ALBERTI UMBERTO | 40 years of heads

ALBERTI UMBERTO – Hall: 15 – Stand: E71

This year Alberti celebrates 40 years of activity. With more than 50.000 pieces successfully installed worldwide of both standard and special units, Alberti technical staff is always striving to provide the best solution possible to meet customers’ demand. Alberti is specialized in designing angle heads of very small dimensions. TR line, in particular, have an offset layout and are designed to perform machining in confined space and to bear continuous and recurring stresses. Beside stability and resilience of the head it is very important that the internal components (gears and bearings first) are properly dimensioned to keep the temperature under control as well as constant precision. At first developed as special model, this line of heads has now been produced in different sizes with various outputs and are now considered part of the standard line-up. In recent years the demand for special applications dedicated for aerospace has increased tremendously. Most of the operations are performed in narrow spaces or inside deep pockets where axis interpolation is not possible or on very big components with difficult setting up. A great example are pilot holes of 2mm or 3mm on beams, hinges or latches which are mainly carried out manually and where Alberti could offer products such as Slimline and Turboflex. Thanks to these items customers can machine fully automated not only structural parts of the wings but also tails, stabilizers and winglets which require a lot of manpower in terms of drilling and countersinking. This last operation, in particular, is the most critical one but still carried out manually. Alberti developed a CNC countersinking unit able to perform one-shot drilling and countersinking on uneven surfaces thus granting constant depth of cut thanks to its unique internal compensation system.
