Revamping & Retrofitting was the exhibition project hosted at 35.BI-MU, which showed how machine tools and plants could have a new life, if they were adequately renewed and equipped with new functionalities.
In the spotlight of the exhibition were metal cutting and metal forming machines, robots and automation systems that had been revamped and retrofitted.
The product offering of Revamping consisted of Machines and Systems that met the criteria set forth in Industry 4.0, with a specific focus on the theme of sustainable production.
The product offering of Retrofitting was made up of machines and systems on which maintenance and retrofitting work had been carried out, involving the replacement of key constituent parts. On display were machinery built after the issuance of the Machinery Directive 98/37CE of 1998. Basically, what is called “Certified Pre-owned Machinery“.
The offer on show targeted a demand interested in cost-effective solutions, however without neglecting quality and, of course, (also) the safety criteria of the Machinery Directive.
With this initiative, BI-MU confirmed its attention to the issue of sustainability – already well highlighted in its traditional exhibition – also giving space to those who chose to extend a machinery life, in line with the principles of the Circular Economy.
