Finlombarda SpA is a financial company owned by the Lombardy Region and a financial intermediary supervised by the Bank of Italy, which has authorized it to grant loans in any form.

Its mission is clear: to support the Region in implementing its economic development policies by fostering investment in the region.

With this in mind, the company offers various financing opportunities to businesses based in Lombardy or those intending to invest in Lombardy to strengthen the region’s identity, promote sustainable development, support its internationalization, and facilitate its digital transformation.

In addition to managing regional funds, Finlombarda stands out on the Italian scene as the only regional financial institution that also operates in corporate banking for investment plans, liquidity needs, mergers and acquisitions, and new production facilities in Lombardy.

This enables it to effectively meet the financial needs of the local business community, acting both independently and in collaboration with other operators and institutional investors.

The company acts as a patient and countercyclical lender, stepping in when the market is temporarily unable to meet certain needs. It thus serves as a bridge between the public and private sectors for the benefit of businesses.

Thanks to its collaboration with other lenders, Finlombarda maximizes the effectiveness of the resources allocated to various initiatives: for some products, the leverage effect has reached high levels, up to 12 times the initial allocation.

Among the intermediation products – which have a total allocation of approximately 1 billion – are “plain vanilla” loans (including those for green projects), minibonds and basket bonds, syndicated loans, and co-financing arrangements with the banking system.
