35.BI-MU: where it all begins
From 13 to 16 October 2026, fieramilano Rho was the stage for the 35th edition of BI-MU, the most important Italian exhibition dedicated to the manufacturing industry of metal cutting and metal forming machine tools, robots, automation, digital and additive manufacturing, auxiliary and enabling technologies.
The only trade show for the sector in Italy with international appeal, the first one to open up to the world of connectivity for the industry, again, BI-MU updated its product offering to meet the needs of the market, presenting a special edition by which it celebrated its 70-year history.
BI-MU has been organised uninterruptedly for 70 years, becoming the reference trade fair for the operators of the manufacturing industry, who visited its halls to view the technological product offering on show and plan their investments.
The spotlight of the exhibition was on the latest generation of digitalised and interconnected machines and technologies, which integrated 4.0 solutions and automation systems, capable of enabling processes typical of the digital factory.
Beside stand-alone machines, metal cutting and metal forming machines, prominence was given to complex systems based on functional modularity, which could be adapted to production changes much more easily and quickly than traditional processing units.
In addition to highlighting machine tools and production systems, BI-MU gave special attention to: robots, additive manufacturing, digital manufacturing, metrology systems, power transmission systems, surface heat treatments and tooling, identified as the seven technological themes of this edition.
The exhibition product offerings were completed with an overview of Revamping & Retrofitting, presenting a selection of machines and systems, which were suitably reconditioned and equipped with new functionalities in response to the needs of a market that is complementary to that of “new” equipment.
Promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation systems manufacturers’ association, and organised by EFIM-ENTE FIERE ITALIANE MACCHINE, 35.BI-MU was a sustainable event, managed and organised according to the principles of environmental, economic and social sustainability, certified ICIM ISO 20121.
